Suzanne Curran Art and Objects
The exhibition concentrated on reconciling my roles as a teacher and an artist practitioner. Drawn portraits of the teachers at my own school were the focus. Reports that they had written about pupils were layered onto these portraits. It explored institutional correspondence and in particular pupil reports as an evaluation or assessment device and also the reporting of educational policy as an evaluation or assessment device for education professionals. Its aim was to engage with the part/whole relationship between myself as a teacher/artist/practitioner; the relationship between teaching/learning and on education as partial relevance or indicative of the whole person/school/community society.
