Art Cards and Photographs
I make art cards.........sometimes from prints of my own work and sometimes relating to the work of writers. The 'art' card (left) is made from a lifesize floral wreath (see 'City Wreaths' in exhibitions). It is a card that commemorates the death of real art with the rise in numbers of 'artists'! It was made in response and to compliment a quote from Gertrude Stien.
The grey ribbon card was made as a commemorative ribbon about memory and 'grey matter'. The poem that the ribbon is mounted on is a poem by Billy Collins, describing (with ironic humour) our loss of memory with age or dementia. I approach photography from a fine art perspective.....making imagery that can be meaningful, decorative, or abstract.
Reclaimed Objects and Garniture
I make bespoke reclaimed pieces for inside and outside the home using anything from reclaimed pieces of wood to old pallets and cutlery.
I utilise and change objects to make art or garniture.
I use objects of importance or curiosity to make unusual artworks.
Mosaics, Objects and Reconditioning.
I make bespoke mosaic pieces...eg. a broken vase that held great sentimental value for a client was cast and the remaining pieces were used as mosaic, returning the vase into a a meaningful object of art for the client. I make bespoke mosaic busts and buttocks by repurposing broken china or porcelain teasets.
I make simple bespoke jewellery and recycled, solid silver cutlery jewellery. See Instagram feed on last page.
I undertake reconditioning of anything... from religious icons to adding vinyl designs to windows.
